Free QBO to CSV Converter: Export QuickBooks Transactions to Excel

April 8, 2026

Why Convert QBO to CSV?

QBO files contain your bank transactions in OFX format — readable by QuickBooks but not directly by Excel or Google Sheets. Converting QBO to CSV lets you:

  • Analyze transactions with pivot tables, filters, and formulas in Excel
  • Share data with accountants or bookkeepers who prefer spreadsheets
  • Migrate to a different accounting system
  • Reconcile outside of QuickBooks with custom logic

Free QBO to CSV Converter (No Software, No Signup)

Use the [QBO to CSV converter](/qbo-to-csv) on this site — completely free:

  1. Upload your QBO file — downloaded from your bank or exported from QuickBooks
  2. Auto-convert — all transactions are parsed automatically from the OFX data
  3. Download CSV — open directly in Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers

No software to install. No account needed. Your file never leaves your browser.

What Data Gets Exported?

The CSV output includes these columns for every transaction:

How to Get a QBO File from Your Bank

Most major banks offer QBO or OFX downloads:

  1. Log in to your bank's website
  2. Go to Account Activity or Statements
  3. Click Download or Export
  4. Choose QuickBooks (QBO) or OFX format
  5. Select your date range and download

Common banks that offer QBO downloads: Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citi, US Bank, TD Bank, PNC, Capital One.

If your bank only offers CSV, use the [CSV to QBO converter](/) first, then convert back to CSV — or just use the CSV directly.

Alternative: Export from Inside QuickBooks Online

If you've already imported the QBO file into QuickBooks Online:

  1. Go to Banking > Transactions
  2. Select the account
  3. Click the Export icon (top right)
  4. Choose Export to CSV

This gives you the same data with the additional benefit of category and account information that QuickBooks added during reconciliation.

Opening the CSV in Excel

After downloading:

  1. Open Excel → File > Open → select your CSV file
  2. If amounts appear as text, select the column → Data > Text to Columns → Delimited → Comma
  3. Format the Date column: select it → Format Cells → Date → choose MM/DD/YYYY

In Google Sheets, just drag the CSV file into a new sheet — it opens automatically.

Can I convert multiple QBO files?

Yes — just repeat the process for each file. There's no daily limit.
