What is a QIF File?

QIF (Quicken Interchange Format) is a text-based format created by Intuit for Quicken. It's also supported by Microsoft Money, GnuCash, and many other personal finance applications.

How to Convert CSV to QIF

1. Download your bank transactions as CSV.

3. Select columns for Date, Description, and Amount.
4. Download the QIF file.
5. In Quicken: File > Import > QIF file.

• D = Date
• T = Amount
• P = Payee/Description

Tips for a Clean Import

• Make sure your Amount column uses negative numbers for expenses
• Verify dates are in a consistent format before converting
